U19s Round 04 v Mazenod: Lost by 120 points
13th May 2006
U19s:Playing against top team Mazenod at Central reserve, the young Panthers were
determined to make amends for their average performance last week. The first
half was fairly even with the half time scores 4.4 v 6.9. Speers and Jenkins
were dangerous up forward with 2 goals each. Other good players in the first
half were Mitchell, Fairbanks, Thompson and Wilton in the back line. Rhys
Orwin, Cam Dennis, Brad Norton and Matt Lumsden were solid contributors
across the centre.Special mention to first gamer Kyle Goulding who took a
couple of strong marks whilst having a run on the ball.
However the second half saw the young inexperienced Panthers being over run
by the classy, stonger Mazenod outfit. Mazenod were able to get better
numbers to the ball and apply more pressure by hard tackling and quick
movement of the ball from stoppages.
Final scores OMFC 4.4 v Mazenod 21.22
Goals- Speers 2, Jenkins 2
Best - Mitchell, Prowse, Wilton, Fairbanks,Thompson, Norton, Orwin, Lumsden
