U19s Lightning Premiership: Won by 73
10th April 2006

On Sunday 9th April the Old Mentonians/Cheltenham U19's competed in the vafa Lightning Premiership
at Elsternwick park .The other competing clubs were Old Xavs,North Old Boys
and Powerhouse [Sth Mornington].
The boys were excited to be playing their first practise match for the year
against other clubs. They did not let the supporters down as they produced 6
quarters of uncompromising footy. Fierce tackling and hard running combined
with an even contribution from all players were highlights that hopefully
stand us in good stead for the approaching season. After 6 quarters of footy
we had had only 2 goals kicked against us and were undefeated. The result
being that the club was awarded the Max Lyon Lightning Premiership Trophy.
Apart from the outstanding efforts from the boys,I would particularly like
to thank Adam Acreman for his coaching, the committee for its magnificent
support and all the officials headed by team manager Jack Acreman for
getting the job done.
Well done guys!
