Round 8: UPDATE

17th June 2007

Round 8 saw Bulleen Templestowe venture down to the playing fields along with Old Ivanhoe. The Reserves started the day off in fine fashion, with Bournon again unstoppable up forward and with Craig 'Nuggets' Palmer wearing his kicking boots Bulleen stood no chance. Juzzie O'Brien played a heavy part in the demolishing of Bulleens reserves. The ressies are now sitting second on the ladder behind Oakleigh who are 2 points clear. With the VAFA record "The Amatuer" predicting a win for Bulleen, the panthers were keen to prove there doubters wrong. With a lazy opening quarter, the panthers decided to kick into second gear with 5 goals in the second quarter. Mitch 'Kiblet' Kibby made his much awaited debut for the Old Mentonians and showed everyone at the club just what he can do, booting 4 of the best. CONGRATULATIONS KIBLET!  Scott 'Mad Dog' Fairbanks and Jesse 'B-Rabbit' Prowse were able to both drift foward and boot some majors in what ended up being another demolishing at the panther pit. That win leaves the seniors 2 points clear on top, with Oakliegh breathing down our backs. On Oval 2, the 19's played top side Old Ivanhoe. With a win against Ormond last week, they were focused on securing two wins in a row. Old Ivanhoe were cleary a better and more efficent team on the day running out victors by 96 points.
