Round 5 saw the seniors and ressies head down to W.A Scammell Reserve in Oakleigh to take on the D1 section leaders. Coming from D2 last year Oakleigh had made a postivie start to the season winning all 4 games. The Panthers let Oakleigh get off to a flying start in the 1st quarter but were able to edge back in front by half time. D.Cochrane was dominant up forward with 3 goals while Shagga controlled the middle, all players were able to play a pivotal role in notching up win number 4 . The ressies faced another undeafeted team in Oakleigh both sitting equal first on the ladder, with Oakleigh on top with percentage. Leading at half time the panthers were unable to take control although good performances from Chris 'Wombat' Dwyer and another splendid display by T.Bournon with 4 majors. The 19's were again at Keysborough playing 3rd placed team Old Trinity. This was to be a tough encounter for the young panthers as Old Trinity beat La Trobe Uni by 83pts, a team who had a day out against the panthers in Rnd 2 winning by 98pts. With great efforts from Shane Alexander and David Forsyth the panthers were able to beat Old Trinity by 16pts. Nathan Robinson was again fantastic playin a major role in the win.
